Tampa, FL – Geotechnical Drilling Underway on Gandy Boulevard
Work will be underway next week on Gandy Boulevard to get a detailed picture of what lies beneath the surface to help plan for the construction of the Selmon Extension. A geotechnical drill will be on site in order to gather soil information. There will be minor traffic disruptions for motorists and noise will be kept to a minimum.
Monday, December 4, 2017 through Friday, December 8, 2017 a partial Eastbound lane closure on Gandy Boulevard to Church Avenue will be in place to allow crew members to conduct soil borings with rock coring for the proposed bridge foundations.
Workers will also be installing Work Zone signs on Gandy Boulevard throughout the project Sunday, December 3 and Monday, December 4 from 6 am to 9 pm. There may be short intermittent stop and go traffic queue restrictions on these two days.
Customers are reminded that the Gandy Park South on the Southside of Gandy Boulevard and the Al Palonis Park on the north side of Gandy Boulevard is closed for the duration of the Selmon Extension construction. The Gandy Boat ramp will remain open. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Please watch out for sudden stops, merging traffic and work zone operations.
