When there are heavy rains, parking lots, streets and flat areas in a town can flood and create hazardous conditions. Storm Drains are drainage systems, which are specifically designed to handle an excess of water as a result of flooding or heavy rainfall. Their sole purpose is to quickly and efficiently move excess storm water into rivers and streams and eventually to the ocean.
The Selmon Extension Project drainage system will meet the needs of the traveling public as well as those of the local community through which it passes. Storm drain inlets will be installed along the project to prevent people, vehicles, large objects or debris from falling into the storm drain.
