BLOG- How to Form a Precast Bridge Segment

This is a sequence of how a Selmon Extension precast bridge segment is formed. First, crews assemble a form to build and shape the segment. Then crews work inside the form inserting and binding tons of rebar together. Once they’re finished with the rebar, the crew will then pour concrete while it’s still sitting in the form structure, then let it cure for a number of days. Each segment weighs up to about 72 tons.
