Work will cease on the Selmon Extension project beginning Friday, August 30, 2019, in observance of the Labor Day holiday weekend. There will be no lane or roadway closures during this time. Construction work will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, weather permitting. According to AAA, they estimate millions of people will be traveling on the roads during this last weekend of summer. To avoid traffic congestion, the best time to leave for your destination is between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday or Saturday. As always, motorists should avoid distractions while driving and maintain the posted speed limit especially while driving through a construction zone.
