BLOG – Scorpion Found in Pile Driving Area

An area resident near the Selmon Extension caused quite a stir with the construction team! They found an unwanted “guest” wandering through the concrete piles. Crews were inspecting a nearby MSE wall when they found a black Scorpion a few feet away on the job site. All construction workers are required to wear protective gloves and steel-toe boots as a safety measure to prevent injuries or in this case, a scorpion sting. The most common scorpion found in Florida is the Hentz striped scorpion.
