Tampa, FL – WORK TO CEASE ON THE SELMON EXTENSION CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

A reminder that a new traffic configuration was recently set in place for westbound Gandy Boulevard travelers wanting to turn into the boat ramp, as well as vehicles wanting to go back eastbound.

The new turn around configuration gives westbound Gandy motorists a dedicated left turn lane onto the Frontage Road to use Frontage Road to get to the boat ramp or to go back eastbound on Gandy Boulevard.  Graphics are included to show this traffic configuration.

There may be intermittent night time lane closures throughout the project limits beginning Tuesday, May 29, 2018 throughout the duration of the project. Additionally, there may be intermittent day time lane closures from 9 am to 3 pm to allow TECO to conduct utility work along the project limits during this same time frame.

Contractors will suspend work for the Selmon Extension Project beginning May 25, 2018 through May 29, 2018 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.  There will be no impacts to the traveling public during this time.

In an effort to keep the construction crews and the traveling public safe, we want to remind motorists that the posted construction speed limit is 45 miles an hour.  Speed enforcement will be in place in the signed construction zones. The fine for speeding in a construction zone is double the amount of a regular ticket.
