Tampa, FL MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO OBEY CONSTRUCTION SIGNS
One lane on both Eastbound and Westbound Gandy Boulevard between Westshore Boulevard and the Gandy Bridge will be closed each night through Saturday, April 28, 2018. The lanes will close from 9 pm to 6 am to allow crews to complete roadway widening activities in the area.
In addition there may be intermittent night time lane closures throughout the project limits to conduct utility relocation work, geotechnical investigations, curb and gutter removal in the median, excavation work, placing barrier wall and roadway restriping along Gandy Boulevard during this timeframe. Through travel lanes will remain open during day time hours.
Please be reminded that motorists are not allowed to travel in between the construction zone barrels to make U-turns. U-turn signs are placed at designated locations between Westshore Boulevard and the Gandy Bridge. It is extremely important for the safety of the traveling public and our workers to obey these posted signs.
In an effort to keep the construction crews, and the traveling public safe, we want to remind motorists that the posted construction speed limit is 45 miles an hour. Enforced speed enforcement will be in place in the signed construction zones. The fine for speeding in a construction zone is double the amount of a regular ticket.
