TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR CITY OF TAMPA ALONG EASTBOUND GANDY FOR UTILITY REPAIR WORK
On Friday, August 16, 2019, beginning at 9pm crews will repair a water main at the corner of Manhattan Avenue and eastbound Gandy Boulevard in front of the KFC. The right-turn lane and the outside thru lane will be temporarily closed. Drivers who need to access southbound Manhattan will need to use S. Trask Street or Lois Avenue as a detour. Signs will be posted during this time.
Also, on Friday, beginning at 9pm, crews will repair an underground utility line across from the Dalton Dental office. The outside lanes on eastbound and westbound Gandy will be temporarily closed between S. Trask Street and S. Hesperides Street. The inside lanes will remain open for travel. Both sections of the road will be open by Monday, August 19, 2019, by 6am, weather permitting.
In an effort to keep the construction crews and the traveling public safe, we want to remind motorists that the posted construction speed limit is 45 miles per hour. Speed enforcement will be in place in the signed construction zones. The fine for speeding in a construction zone is double the amount of a regular ticket.
